Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao will officially put back on his gloves, after four years away from the ring.
Manny Pacquiao confirmed through a press release that he will return to the ring to challenge WBC welterweight world champion Mario “Azteca” Barrios.
The fight will take place on July 19 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
The WBC Governors voted to elevate Barrios to Absolute Champion, after Terence Crawford moved to the super-welter division. Mario`s first defence of his title was when he faced Abel Ramos last November. The fight ended in a hard fought draw.
“Pac-Man’s” most recent fight was against Yordeis Ugas in August 2021 at the T-Mobile Arena, which Ugas won by unanimous decision.
Manny Pacquiao has expressed that he wants to end his career being WBC champion, being this the main reason for his return to the ring.
Mario “Azteca” Barrios has a record of 29-2-1 and 18 KOs.
Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao holds a record of 62-8-2 with 39 knockouts.
